Fr. Jose Kallukalam was born, educated and ordained a diocesan priest in Kerala, India. After his Ordination, he served both as Associate Pastor and Pastor in several parishes in Kerala. At the request of his Bishop, he moved to Chicago and in 1983 earned a Master’s Degree in Religious Communication from Loyola University of Chicago.
In 1983, Fr. Jose was appointed as the Director of Diocesan Communication Center in his home diocese in India, where he was responsible for the production of Catholic TV programs, stage shows, and musical programs. He also supervised many of the Diocesan Publications for the next 15 years.
From 2000 to 2005, Fr. Jose served as an Associate Pastor and as Pastor for the Diocese of Corpus Christi, Texas and in 2005 he came to the Diocese of St. Augustine. He served as an Associate Pastor at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Jacksonville, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Palm Coast, and St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Jacksonville Beach. On January 1, 2011, Fr. Jose was appointed as Pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church where he has faithfully served since.
